RIP Bijli |
On Sunday,
June 30, 2013, the 60 years elephant Bijli fighting for survival finally end
her hope. Its
time owner of Bijli, Rati Ram Goswani should throw behind bars and other
elephant Laxmi’s ownership should CANCLE with immediate effect. Bijli is 2nd
Elephant died due to forest department not taken timely step to stop the
illegal commercial activities of the Elephant owners in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai
& Thane area.
Plant & Animals Welfare Society –
Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai) have lodged a written complaint with Mulund Police and
Mumbai Range Forests Office but till now no action has been taken or given any
response to our complaint.
PAWS-Mumbai appeal to the citizen to
raise their voice against animal cruelty and who exploit poor animal by using
it for begging, selling their body parts, joy ride, entertainment, etc. After a
long age work without any proper food, health care, shelter the animal die
helplessly and the law enforcement authority’s like forest and police not
taking any interest in legal action against the cruel owners.
PAWS-Mumbai has launched a campaign
“Save Jumbo” where citizen can be part of it. If you see an elephants of the

with subject line as “Save Jumbo”, PAWS-Mumbai will take-up each issue with the
law enforcement authorities and also follow-up with them.
